Experience
Tommy Du is a trial attorney focused on complex business and commercial litigation. He has represented a range of clients, from Fortune 500 companies to individuals, in every aspect of litigation. He has obtained significant recoveries for plaintiffs and dismissals of lawsuits for defendants in a variety of cases. Tommy’s background includes experience in a wide array of industries, including automotive, healthcare, nutrition, technology, manufacturing, real estate, franchise, and retail.
Tommy has completed over 200 hours of pro bono service with public interest organizations such as Bet Tzedek, Public Law Center, and Public Counsel. As part of his pro bono efforts, Tommy worked alongside Dean Erwin Chemerinsky in drafting briefs and arguing in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals on behalf of an incarcerated individual who was denied medical treatment based on his race.
Prior to joining the firm, Tommy clerked for the Honorable Otis D. Wright, II in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. He received his J.D. from the University of California, Irvine School of Law, and his B.A. in Political Science and Economics from the University of California, Irvine. He also currently serves on the Governing Council of the UCI Law Alumni Association.
Represented minor members of a company that operated a national sporting event involving claims of breach of contract, fraud, and breach of fiduciary duty resulting in multi-million dollar settlement.
Prosecuted claims on behalf of a national franchisor for breach of contract, intentional interference, and unlawful business practices.
Defended national corporation of a home-furnishings company against claims for breach of contract, fraud, and defective workmanship.
Represented the former senior management of a public corporation in a high-profile defamation action that resulted in a confidential settlement. (Prior to joining Robins Kaplan LLP)
