Steve Brand, Partner in the Minneapolis office of Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi L.L.P., was honored by the Twin Cities Cardozo Society with the “Sidney Barrows Lifetime Commitment Award.”
As stated on the Cardozo Society Web site, the award was created in 2000, in memory of Sidney Barrows, one of the founding chairs of the Cardozo Society. It is given annually to a senior attorney or judge in the Twin Cities who exemplifies excellence in his or her practice, community service in the Jewish and general community, and life-long learning. The award was presented to Mr. Brand on November 1 at the Twin Cities Cardozo Society’s 13th Annual Dinner in Minneapolis.
Mr. Brand, who leads the firm’s Estate and Trust practice, currently serves on the Boards of Directors of the Sholom Community Alliance and the Jewish Federation of Greater St. Paul. He previously served on the Board of Directors of the Friends of the St. Paul Public Library, including three years as its Treasurer. He is a Life Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, and has been a frequent lecturer for Continuing Legal Education programs in Minnesota on probate, estate planning and fiduciary income taxation.
The mission of the Twin Cities Cardozo Society is to strengthen bonds among legal professionals through education, social, and philanthropic activities, as well as communal involvement and opportunities for leadership roles.
